<\/p>\nThe Perth Scorchers have notched their third consecutive win in a row, with a victory over the Melbourne Stars by 11 runs at the MCG on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
With a spot in the BBL finals already locked up, the Scorchers once again showed just why they're considered title favourites by setting the Stars a target of 183 runs to win. Tonight's win also put Perth atop of the BBL ladder.<\/p>\n
Openers Jason Roy (54 off 32) and Liam Livingstone (24 off 29) put together a partnership of 83 runs to get the Scorchers off to a fast start before Colin Munro, who finished 46 not out from 30 deliveries, helped guide Perth to their massive total.<\/p>\n
Josh Inglis chipped in with 26 off 16, while Ashton Turner's unbeaten 18 off 9 deliveries at the death was also crucial to the Scorchers finishing with 4\/182 after 20 overs.<\/p>\n

For the Stars, a brilliant 70 off 44 from Nick Larkin wasn't enough to steer his side to a victory as Melbourne finished with 6\/171 from 20 overs.<\/p>\n
Outside of Larkin's big performance with the bat, it was a tough night out for the Stars' batsmen. Marcus Stoinis (14 off 11) and Seb Gotch (18 off 20) were unable to get going, while captain Glenn Maxwell was caught for a duck by Scorchers skipper Ashton Turner.<\/p>\n
"It's excellent to be able to have the performance and momentum at the moment," Andrew Tye told Fox Cricket after the game.<\/p>\n
"We probably didn't get it right in our first four games but since then we think we've gotten it right."<\/p>\n
With five Big Bash League games remaining before the finals series kicks off, a spot in the postseason for the Stars will be now dependant on results going their way. <\/p>\n
