T\ufeffhe NRL<\/a> has revealed the NRL and NRLW salary caps for the 2023 season with male and female players set to receive\ufeff record paychecks.<\/p>\n

In a statement released on Friday, the governing body confirmed the NRL salary cap would increase from $9.6 million in 2022 to $12.1 million next season.<\/p>\n

The cap for a club's top 30 players will rise to a record-high $11.45 million, while the development list will increase from $240,000 to $650,000.<\/p>\n

The NRL has also decided the minimum salary for all male players in a club's top 30 squad will increase to $120,000.<\/p>\n

"As a result of today's announcement, players who have the standard form ratchet clause in their playing contract will receive an 18 per cent increase to their playing fee, with the increase to be effective from 1 November, resulting in a well-timed year-end bonus," the NRL said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the NRLW's salary cap will lift to $884,000.<\/p>\n

While CBA negotiations between the Rugby League Players Association<\/a> and NRL continue, the parties extended the current ammended agreement.<\/p>\n

The increases for next season will be in addition to the players' entitlements under the ammended CBA.<\/p>\n
