Ahead of the much anticipated UFC 257, the promotion has cut undefeated lightweight Ottman Azaitar, just one day before he was scheduled to face Matt Frevola on the Conor McGregor v Dustin Poirer card.<\/p>\n

Azaitar, an exciting German-Moroccan lightweight with 10 career knockouts, was axed from the promotion altogether for committing a "violation of the health and safety protocols".<\/p>\n

UFC president Dana White told BT Sport that his security team found an unauthorized individual entering the fighter hotel with a wristband provided by Azaitar to deliver a bag to the fighter's room.<\/p>\n

After Azaitar's late scratching, Frevola will now face Arman Tsarukyan in a 157-pound catchweight bout.<\/p>\n

"It's just bad," White said.<\/p>\n

"He and his team cut off their wrist bands, gave them to somebody outside the bubble, I don't know how they even did it," UFC president Dana White said.<\/p>\n

"That guy taped them, showed up here with a bag, went into a room, shimmied across four balconies, went in his room dropped the bag off, changed his clothes, and then left.<\/p>\n
