Glenn Maxwell<\/a> has revealed he lost five kilograms in the weeks after he broke his leg after a fall<\/a> at a birthday party.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old broke his leg in November when he and a friend tripped and fell, with Maxwell's leg taking the full weight of his friend's body.<\/p>\n

He underwent surgery after fracturing his left fibula.<\/p>\n

A month after the accident, Maxwell is still in a moon boot and admits he doesn't know when he will be back on the field.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeff"I want it to be done and over with quickly," he said.<\/p>\n

"I don't want to be on crutches anymore. I don't want to be in a boot but it's just the process I'm going through at the moment on a bike, in the pool.<\/p>\n

"I haven't got a return date for you yet until I can start walking properly and do other things, playing golf, doing some basic things around the house.<\/p>\n

The all-rounder, who had been talked about as a possibility for the Australian team for the Test tour of India in February, says he won't be rushing his return.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"I'd love to be playing next game, that'd be great, but also not realistic," he explained.<\/p>\n

"The leg has been through a bit of trauma that I need to make sure that I do everything I can to make sure it's not a recurring injury with my ankle joint and that I can make sure that I'm solid on it for the rest of my career."<\/p>\n

While he is frustrated to be sidelined, Maxwell is confident there'll be no ongoing problems from the injury.<\/p>\n

"The surgeon and doctors seem to think I'll make a full recovery but that's also up to me and making sure that I can do everything right," he said.<\/p>\n

"It's my recovery. So a fair bit is in my in my court at the moment. So as I said, I'm just gonna do everything I possibly can to get right. I'll go see the surgeon next week and hopefully get some more good news."<\/p>\n
