Double Olympic<\/a> champion D\ufeffavid Rudisha is unharmed after surviving a plane crash in his home country of Kenya.<\/p>\n

Rudisha, who won gold in the 800m at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, was one of six people involved in a crash he described as a "scary episode".<\/p>\n

"All was well close to seven or eight minutes into the flight when the engine of the plane suddenly went quiet," the 33-year-old told Kenya's The Daily Nation.<\/p>\n

"He (the pilot) saw some clear space where he tried to land the plane, but one of its wings hit a tree as the plane started to spin before landing on the rocky field.<\/p>\n

"The pilot did an incredible job to keep the plane afloat and stable for long."<\/p>\n

Rudisha also survived a car accident in Kenya in 2019 when a tyre burst and his SUV collided with a bus.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Rudisha clocked 1:40.91 in the 800m final at the 2012 London Olympics to set a world record that still stands.<\/p>\n

The towering African produced a gun-to-tape victory widely seen as one of the greatest athletic performances in history.\ufeff<\/p>\n
