Tim Tszyu's<\/a> world title challenge against unified super welterweight world champion Jermell Charlo will take place\ufeff at Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

Showtime revealed the 12,000 capacity venue will host the highly anticipated unification bout<\/a> when Tsyzu tries to strip the Texan for his IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO belts on January 29 (AEDT).<\/p>\n

The opportunity gives the undefeated Tszyu a chance to make his own mark at the venue after his father, Kostya,\ufeff fought twice at Mandalay Bay. Kostya defeated American Sharmba Mitchell in 2001 to unify the light-welterweight division.<\/p>\n

He then defended\ufeff his undisputed titles against Ghana's Ben Tackie in 2002, his lone bout that year.<\/p>\n

The blockbuster\ufeff will take place on the 28th anniversary of Tim's father Kostya Tszyu's IBF lightweight title win over Jake Rodriguez at neighbouring casino, MGM Grand, in 1995.<\/p>\n

Tim, 28, has gone all in with his preparation, which began with a mountainous \ufefftraining camp in Thailand. He's currently in Los Angeles, before basing himself outside of the Las Vegas strip weeks out from the fight.<\/p>\n

"The base I definitely built, I feel much stronger. My fitness, my gas tank is much bigger," Tszyu said.<\/p>\n

"The main thing is I get excited and I just want to go hard, hard, hard but you've got to be smart in this business.<\/p>\n

"The thing is we're so far away but so close as well (to the fight). So the main thing for me is to just be able to not burn out."<\/p>\n

While in Los Angeles, Tszyu will take in some NFL action\ufeff at SoFi Stadium to watch the LA Rams play the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday (AEDT).<\/p>\n

As for Charlo's lack of promotion of the fight apart from declaring on social media he'll stop Tszyu early, the Australian said he expects a different character closer to the bout.<\/p>\n

"So I guess we'll have a press conference soon and that's when we'll have our first eye to eye."<\/p>\n
