UPDATED:<\/strong> Australian heavyweight champion Justis Huni<\/a> is "doing well" after the undefeated star was rushed to hospital in "severe pain" this morning.<\/p>\n

The Queensland fighter attended a Brisbane hospital on Monday night but was sent home, only for his family to send for an ambulance on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

It was suspected the boxer had a severe case of appendicitis but after receiving the test results, the Huni camp is relieved it's nothing serious.<\/p>\n

"Justis is doing well it looks like it's just a bad case of stomach cramps or a bug that's going around at the moment," Huni's father Rocki told Wide World of Sports via his son's promoter Dean Lonergan.<\/p>\n

"Did all the tests and it's come back perfect."\ufeff<\/p>\n

It comes days after Huni won his 10-round fight against tough Kiwi Kiki Leutele via unanimous decision.<\/p>\n

The Queenslander confirmed after the bout that he'd hurt his hand with reports he may have a fracture.<\/p>\n

It's been a tough year for Huni who has battled injury and illness and been unable to achieve his goal of seven fights in 2022 as a result.<\/p>\n

The hand injury might be the same one he experienced against Paul Gallen in 2021, Huni said after the fight.<\/p>\n
