The Brooklyn Nets<\/a> have reportedly issued Kyrie Irving<\/a> six items he must complete to return to the team, according to the Athletic's Shams Charania.<\/p>\n

Irving was suspended by the Nets\ufeff for at least five games without pay on Friday<\/a>, the team saying they were dismayed by his immediate failure to "unequivocally say he has no antisemitic beliefs."<\/p>\n

After Irving repeatedly refused to issue the apology that NBA Commissioner Adam Silver sought for posting a link to an antisemitic work on his Twitter feed, the Nets said that Irving is "currently unfit to be associated with the Brooklyn Nets."<\/p>\n

"We were dismayed today (Friday), when given an opportunity in a media session, that Kyrie refused to unequivocally say he has no antisemitic beliefs, nor acknowledge specific hateful material in the film. This was not the first time he had the opportunity \u2014 but failed \u2014 to clarify," the Nets said in a statement.<\/p>\n

"Such failure to disavow antisemitism when given a clear opportunity to do so is deeply disturbing, is against the values of our organisation, and constitutes conduct detrimental to the team. Accordingly, we are of the view that he is currently unfit to be associated with the Brooklyn Nets."<\/p>\n

In a statement posted to his Instagram, the star guard subsequently apologised to the Jewish families and communities for the pain his actions had caused.<\/p>\n
