T\ufeffhe T20 World Cup<\/a> has been hit with controversy after Indian star Virat Kohli<\/a> fumed after a stranger seemingly videoed inside his hotel room while the cricketer was away.<\/p>\n

Kohli posted a video of what looked to be a stranger going through his hotel room, including in the closet, with a caption of "King Kohli's Hotel Room" accompanying the footage.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old slammed the video as "appalling" and said "it's made me feel very paranoid about my privacy".<\/p>\n

Crown Perth confirmed that the individual in the video was a "contractor" who has since been stood down.<\/p>\n

"The safety and privacy of our guests is our number one priority, and we are incredibly disappointed this incident has occurred," a Crown Resorts spokesperson said on Monday night.<\/p>\n

"We unreservedly apologise to the guest involved and will continue to take the necessary steps to ensure this remains an isolated incident. <\/p>\n

"We have zero tolerance for this behaviour, and it falls well below the standards we set for our team members and contractors. <\/p>\n

"Crown took immediate steps to rectify the issue, including launching an investigation, standing down the individuals involved and removing them from the Crown account. <\/p>\n

"The original video was also swiftly removed from the social media platform. <\/p>\n

"We are also cooperating with the Indian Cricket team and the International Cricket Council to convey our apologies and will continue to work with them as we progress our investigation."<\/p>\n

The Indian team was in Perth over the weekend preparing for Sunday night's group stage clash against South Africa, which they lost by five wickets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

India is headed to Adelaide where it will face Bangladesh on Wednesday evening, before its final group stage clash against Zimbabwe at the MCG on Sunday.\ufeff<\/p>\n
