F\ufeffrustrated Manly<\/a> star Jake Trbojevic<\/a> has admitted rumours surrounding a feud between he and club captain Daly Cherry-Evans<\/a> made things "awkward" for the pair.<\/p>\n

Trbojevic, who is currently in England with the Kangaroos squad at the Rugby League World Cup<\/a>, set the record straight on a number of rumours surrounding the Sea Eagles after a tumultuous end to the season.<\/p>\n

He called rumours of a feud between he and Cherry-Evans "silly", revealing the pair had spoken about it in the aftermath.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"\ufeffThat was frustrating to hear," he said.<\/p>\n

"You don't like seeing that, and I'm really good friends with Daly. It's tough to see and I honestly try not to think about it, it's ridiculous.<\/p>\n

\"Manly<\/p>\n

"Yeah, it (the conversation with Cherry-Evans) was fine. It's just people making it awkward for us."<\/p>\n

Trbojevic also poured water on any suggestions that he and his brother Tom were planning exits from Manly.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"That didn't come from us," he said.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI obviously love Manly. We grew up in Manly and I think we've got another four years on our contracts. It's obviously quite hard sometimes seeing your loyalty get questioned."<\/p>\n

A once-promising season ended in infamy for Manly, with the team losing seven straight games after the pride jersey controversy.<\/a> The horror ending to the year ultimately cost coach Des Hasler his job<\/a>, and Trbojevic said he "felt really sorry" for his old coach.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Despite the pride jersey having such a huge impact in the turmoil surrounding the club, Trbojevic is adamant he holds no ill-will towards the seven teammates that sat out of the now-infamous\ufeff round 20 clash against the Roosters.<\/p>\n

"Their biggest thing is religion and my biggest thing is footy, that's the way it was at the start," he said.<\/p>\n

"They (the seven players) explained it and I completely moved on. The fact that we lost seven (games in a row) after it has made people keep talking about it. But on my behalf it's literally fine.<\/p>\n

"It is what it is. Why am I going to dwell on it and let that one game affect us moving forward? I don't want to lose seven in a row again, it sucks."<\/p>\n
