Kazakhstan tennis star Yulia Putintseva has whinged relentlessly about mice scampering throughout her hotel room<\/a>, but the world No.28 could be bringing the trouble upon herself.<\/p>\n

That's the view of Victoria's emergency services minister Lisa Neville, who's indicated the Australian Open competitor could be feeding the mice.<\/p>\n

Putintseva, one of 72 competitors trapped in a 14-day hotel quarantine after the arrival of three coronavirus-infected flights sent for the grand slam<\/a>, switched rooms after sighting mice scurrying about.<\/p>\n

However, the 26-year-old was then greeted by more pesky rodents in her new room.<\/p>\n

Ms Neville didn't identify the subject of her rant, but it's believed she was taking aim at Putintseva.<\/p>\n

"As I understand there may have been some feeding going on," Ms Neville said.<\/p>\n

"Firstly, we moved the particular tennis player the other day.<\/p>\n

"We've had the hotel pest control this week and I think there may have been some feeding going on with the mice."<\/p>\n

Putintseva's complaints of mice are only a cheese bite of the apparent problems taunting the Australian Open players and partners in lockdown.<\/p>\n

The three-time grand slam quarterfinalist has also grumbled about a lack of fresh air, taking exception to the fact windows can't be opened.<\/p>\n

Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut has likened the quarantine to prison with WiFi, while countryman Pablo Carreno Busta and Italian Fabio Fognini have slammed the quality of food.<\/p>\n

Extraordinarily, even the partner of Australian tennis bad boy Bernard Tomic – Vanessa Sierra – has complained about the food and the fact she has to wash her own hair, something she'd "never done".<\/p>\n

Tennis Australia chief executive Craig Tiley last night hosted a video conference with 500 players<\/a> and said he had been hit with a mix of comments.<\/p>\n

"We had 500 players last night on a group chat where anyone could ask questions, make complaints," Tiley said.<\/p>\n

"We stood as a team and we took them – and there were some big hits that we took. But there were also some compliments and a scroll of 'thank yous'."<\/p>\n

Amid the barrage of whinging, some can smell a rat.<\/p>\n
