K\ufeffangaroos<\/a> stars have wiped away tears during a moving tribute to Liam Hampson.<\/p>\n

Ahead of their Rugby League World Cup<\/a> clash against Scotland on Saturday morning<\/a>, tournament officials organised for a tribute to be shown on the big screen during a moment of silence.<\/p>\n

Kangaroos stars Isaah Yeo, \ufeffBen Hunt and James Tedesco were all visibly emotional during the tribute to the young Redcliffe star who died in Spain on Thursday morning (AEDT). Forward Pat Carrigan was also friends with Hampson.<\/p>\n

The Kangaroos all wore black armbands, and Carrigan had the simple message of 'Hampo' written on tape wrapped around his wrist.<\/p>\n

Before the match, coach Mal Meninga said Carrigan – who was the starting lock – was comfortable playing.<\/p>\n

"Everyone needs time to grieve, sometimes you just jump back on the bike and keep going – that is a way of handling it as well," he said.<\/p>\n

"At some stage all his close friends, particularly over here, will be grieving. We will support them as best we can.<\/p>\n

"Being so far away from home is the thing too."<\/p>\n

The Kangaroos thumped a hapless Scotland side 84-0, headlined by four tries to Josh Addo-Carr.<\/p>\n

Carrigan played just 38 minutes of the match but still managed 183 running metres.<\/p>\n

Hampson, 24, was on an end of season trip and had not been seen for 30 hours<\/a> after going missing on a holiday with several players from NRL teams.<\/p>\n

CCTV captured Hampson moving through several emergency exits<\/a> before finding himself stuck in Barcelona nightclub Sala Apolo.<\/p>\n

Club director Albert Guijarro told Spanish radio that Hampson went through two emergency exits and ended up on the roof.<\/p>\n

When he could not re-enter through the doors he entered, Hampson decided to jump over a wall and fell into the void in the courtyard.<\/p>\n
