Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara<\/a> has displayed incredible courage in countering Australia's fast bowlers on the final day of the fourth Test in Brisbane.<\/a><\/p>\n

Pujara has been hit on the body 11 times, including three times on the helmet, as he fights to save the Border-Gavaskar trophy.<\/p>\n

A draw will be enough for India to retain the trophy, although Pujara has given the visitors every chance of pulling off a remarkable victory.<\/p>\n

The third blow to the helmet was by far the worst, as Pujara was hit by a lethal ball from fast bowler Josh Hazlewood<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pujara's helmet guard flew off as the Australian players rushed to make sure he was OK.<\/p>\n

"That is a shocking blow to the head," Brett Lee said on Fox Cricket.<\/p>\n

"That's ugly, thank God he's got the grill on."<\/p>\n

Fellow commentator Shane Warne was equally concerned.<\/p>\n

"That is a nasty blow, a well directed bouncer but luckily he is OK," Warne said.<\/p>\n

"Thank goodness for helmets. Concentration, guts, courage – just shows you the class of Pujara."<\/p>\n

The Indian medical staff were frequently called upon during Pujara's vigil. As well as the hits to the head, the 32-year-old was struck in the ribs, the elbow and the fingers on multiple occasions.<\/p>\n

Despite often showing visible signs of pain, Pujara continued to defy the Australian bowlers, his innings stretching beyond four hours as he closed in on his half-century.<\/p>\n
