South Sydney<\/a>'s bid to move home games back to Moore Park in 2023 is officially off, with the club announcing they will remain in Homebush next season.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe Rabbitohs' claims to play at the new Allianz Stadium were tenuous at best, given their existing deal at the old Olympic Stadium, despite CEO Blake Solly's public pressure in recent weeks to get Souths back to their traditional heartland.<\/p>\n

The club had used the state government's inaction in regards to the redevelopment of Accor Stadium as justification for wanting the move, but \ufeffthey will now stay put regardless.<\/p>\n

"We're really excited to be working closely with the team at Accor Stadium on making the Rabbitohs game days at the venue a special event every time we play there," Solly said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Souths will play "at least" eight games at Homebush, with two home games already confirmed for Perth and the Sunshine Coast.<\/p>\n

Their remaining two \ufefffixtures are yet to be given a location.<\/p>\n

"We understand our members want to know where they can watch their team play and plan accordingly, so we are working hard to lock these in," Solly said.<\/p>\n

The Rabbitohs will play those interstate games during the lockout period, where their home ground will be unavailable due to the FIFA World Cup,<\/a> which takes place in July and August. \ufeff<\/p>\n
