Adelaide 36ers point guard Josh Giddey is already attracting interest from NBA clubs after just two games of NBL action.<\/p>\n

The rookie playmaker, who's widely considered to be an NBA player of the future, starred for the 36ers in yesterday's double-overtime win over the South East Melbourne Phoenix.<\/p>\n

Coming off the bench, Giddey stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists in just over 34 minutes of action. He became the second-youngest NBL player to record a double-double at 18 years, three months and seven days old, behind only LaMelo Ball.<\/p>\n

36ers general manager Jeff Van Groningen told Newscorp <\/em>the club had been fielding calls from several NBA franchises, with Giddey expected to feature in the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft.<\/p>\n

"Josh is a special talent and equally terrific kid \u2013 I'm not sure the league has had a better 18-year-old in an awfully long time," Van Groningen said.<\/p>\n

"His development has been strong over the past couple of months and as he has quickly adapted to the NBL's size, speed and intensity.<\/p>\n

"His (first two games) have been a demonstration of why he was a priority in the off-season to sign."<\/p>\n

Giddey's big performance against the Phoenix was witnessed by Aussie NBA star Joe Ingles who dished out several tweets in support of the Adelaide rookie.<\/p>\n

The Utah Jazz three-point specialist was clearly tweeting along as the match was live, with Ingles calling for Giddey to play more minutes.<\/p>\n
