Cronulla<\/a> coach Craig Fitzgibbon<\/a> says the club was "feeling good" after a comfortable 16-0 win over the Bulldogs<\/a>, as his side paid tribute to a club legend and took a giant step toward a home final at Shark Park.<\/p>\n

A gritty and low-scoring win was a fitting end for Andrew Fifita<\/a>'s regular-season tenure at Shark Park, who was subbed back on in the final few minutes to a rapturous round of applause and took the final carry of the night before popping an offload.<\/p>\n

"There's always lessons – just really pleased to win," Craig Fitzgibbon said as the club's celebrations for both Fifita and Aiden Tolman continued on in the background.<\/p>\n

"That was an emotional week, on a lot of levels."<\/p>\n

Fitzgibbon said the likes of Will Kennedy, Dale Finucane and Toby Rudolf, among others, were all at differing levels of fitness, but some could feature next week.<\/p>\n

"We've got to work through a bit during the week, but not certain on any of them."<\/p>\n

Cronulla will host a finals game at Shark Park if its home game falls in week one of the finals, but not week two or three – meaning it needs to finish second to secure that momentous occasion.<\/p>\n

"It'd be great, it'd be fantastic – but we've got to perform next week," Fitzgibbon said.<\/p>\n

A win over Newcastle, coupled with a Cowboys loss to either Souths on Saturday night or the Panthers next week, would lock up a top-two spot in Fitzgibbon's maiden season.<\/p>\n

For the Dogs, it was a brave effort but they never really looked like scoring in a game where Cronulla's missed tackle count was still in single digits as the siren rang.<\/p>\n

"I'm not sure it was really a spectacle for the fans," coach Mick Potter conceded.<\/p>\n

"It was a worry that we couldn't build any pressure with our attack, and we need to work on that."<\/p>\n
