Former Australian fast bowler Michael Kasprowicz says he wouldn't be surprised if selectors hand Michael Neser a Test debut as the Aussies prepare for the series finale against India in Brisbane on Friday.<\/a><\/p>\n

With the series locked at 1-1, the Border-Gavaskar trophy is up for grabs after India forced a draw during the SCG Test.<\/p>\n

After James Pattinson was forced to stay in Victoria due to a rib injury, Neser is expected to earn his Test debut should a member of the current bowling attack miss the final Test.<\/p>\n

Australian Test captain Tim Paine did confirm earlier that he expects the attack of Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc to all be available for selection.<\/p>\n

"They know they have a rest after the Gabba," he said.<\/p>\n

"They enjoy bowling there. It's a bit easier on the body, seeing the ball fly through.<\/p>\n

"They'll be fine to go."<\/p>\n

However, Kasprowicz revealed it wouldn't come as a shock if Neser, who plays for Queensland at domestic level, earns a shock call-up to the side.<\/p>\n

"I've got a funny feeling we might see Michael Neser debut at the Gabba. That's his home ground," he told Wide World of Sports Radio.<\/em><\/p>\n

"With the Australian bowlers and the fast turn around, and given just how important this Test is, I think maybe some fresh legs might help.<\/p>\n

"It's his home ground. He has had huge success here. He swings the ball and the conditions suit.<\/p>\n

"I think that would be a very good thing to see."<\/p>\n
