UFC boss Dana White has opened up on mending his rocky relationship with Conor McGregor<\/a> while insisting he will push Khabib Nurmagomedov to return to the octagon, in a wide-ranging interview.<\/p>\n

Speaking to ESPN ahead of UFC 257<\/a>, White revealed-all as he reflected on the infamous messaging saga between himself and McGregor which saw the UFC star publicly leak screenshots of private messages between the two.<\/p>\n

At the time, the incident saw White blast McGregor for stooping to one "of the dirtiest things you can do."<\/p>\n

In the screenshots, McGregor could be seen asking White if he could fight Diego Sanchez, to which the UFC boss replied, "Bro\u2026 We should lose our (promoter's) license if we make that fight."<\/p>\n

McGregor shared the messages to support his claims he had been working to try and book a fight without success and that it was not his fault.<\/p>\n

The saga ignited the strained relationship between the pair and stole headlines across the combat sports world as the pair jostled for power.<\/p>\n

"We were in a really bad place then," White told ESPN.<\/p>\n

"I was really upset. It wasn't because he put out private messages. It was (because) we were talking about another fighter. I like Diego Sanchez a lot and I have a lot of respect for Diego Sanchez. I care about Diego Sanchez.<\/p>\n

"I was very upset about that. I talked to Diego face-to-face about it. Being the great human being that he is, we're all good. Then I was really, really upset with Conor.<\/p>\n

\"Conor<\/p>\n

"Conor and I fixed that and we talked and we got through it. We're in a good place now."<\/p>\n

White also revealed that he will meet with undefeated UFC legend Nurmagomedov in Abu Dhabi this week for the first time since he retired in a bid to lure the Dagestani back into the octagon.<\/p>\n

"I'm obviously meeting with him because I think that he should fight again," White added to ESPN.<\/p>\n

"Look at what he did to Justin Gaethje [in October]. Look at what he's done to every opponent he has faced. I think he should fight again and I'm going to press him as hard as I can for one more."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
