The Giants<\/a> have recorded their first win of the season, overpowering the Suns<\/a> to secure a 26-point victory at Homebush.<\/p>\n

However, the four premiership points could come at the cost of All Australian defender Nick Haynes, after he was subbed off heading into the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.<\/p>\n

Haynes turned his right ankle in the second quarter after his leg became snared in the water-soaked turf. He came from the ground before being seen to by medical staff who assessed the internal structures of the ankle.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old was substituted for Adam Kennedy.<\/p>\n

There was also a moment of concern for teammate Jesse Hogan<\/a> as he limped off the ground late in the second term gesturing at his lower leg. However, the former Docker later returned.<\/p>\n

His night finished with four scoring shots including two majors.<\/p>\n

It was a dominant showing from the home side who rocketed out to a five goal lead in the first quarter, a margin which failed to let up off the back of supreme performance from Tim Taranto and Stephen Coniglio.<\/p>\n

A solid double tag to Gold Coast skipper Touk Miller by Lachie Ash and Matt de Boeralso also extinguished any drive shown by the Suns in its opening two rounds.<\/p>\n
