After a loss to start their NRLW<\/a> season, Allana Ferguson is calling on the Roosters to think outside the box when it comes to team selection, and play Jessica Sergis at fullback this weekend.<\/p>\n

The Roosters were well beaten in their opening encounter against the reigning premiers Brisbane.<\/p>\n

They were without first-choice fullback Corban Baxter due to COVID-19, and she's been named on the extended bench for this week's clash with Gold Coast, suggesting she will again sit out.<\/p>\n

Brydie Parker has again been named to wear the No.1 jumper in Baxter's absence, but retired NRLW star Ferguson wants to see a change.<\/p>\n

"In terms of attack and not being able to put anything on the board – Jess Sergis at fullback, let's see it," Ferguson said on NRLWrap.<\/a><\/p>\n

"They were down by 20 points and there was nothing really happening. I thought Brydie [Parker] was strong at the back, but they at no point looked to be threatening enough to win the game.<\/p>\n

"When you're sitting 10 minutes out and you need to put some points on the board… let's see her there, give her a crack. She's dangerous, the opposition coach is going to have a headache about trying to defend up against her."<\/p>\n

The reigning Dally M winner was the biggest transfer of the off-season, moving from the Dragons after being a key cog there since the competition's inception – but it was far from a happy debut for the Tricolours.<\/p>\n

"It was a really fast-paced game, the ruck speed was really good, and they handled so many facets of the game brilliantly – but where it broke down, and where they didn't look dangerous to me was their line attack," Ferguson said.<\/p>\n

"They just looked a little bit lost when they had opportunities to attack the line."<\/p>\n

It's fair to say the Roosters are likely to fare better this weekend against the Titans, who were well beaten in their first-ever game.<\/p>\n

Brisbane's dominance in the competition is well documented, losing just one match since the NRLW started – and in particular, have had the wood over the Roosters.<\/p>\n

The Broncos have won all six games when the two teams have met, scoring 132 points and conceding just 46.<\/p>\n
