Australian boxer Liam Wilson enjoyed some sweet redemption after producing a stunning knockout to defeat Filipino star Joe Noynay for the WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight title.<\/p>\n

Coming in as the underdog, life for the 25-year-old Wilson was made even harder when Noynay weighed in at 62.92kg yesterday, nearly 4kg over the 59kg weight class limit.<\/p>\n

But it clearly didn't bother the Australian who was out to avenge his TKO defeat, the only loss of his career to date, to Noynay last year.<\/p>\n

Wilson's redemption came in stunning fashion after delivering a brutal left hook to send Noynay on the canvas late in the second round.<\/p>\n

"We have seen one of the best knockouts in recent Australian boxing history from Liam Wilson. <\/p>\n

"He has taken on a far bigger man and knocked him out with pure brilliance."<\/p>\n

Wilson said he was relieved to finally get past the fight after months of focus.<\/p>\n

"For eight months I've been thinking about this guy, more than my kids, and it was very draining," Wilson said. <\/p>\n

"I couldn't wait to get in here tonight and get rid of him out of my life."<\/p>\n
