{"id":18219,"date":"2021-01-04T23:47:56","date_gmt":"2021-01-05T00:47:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=18219"},"modified":"2021-01-05T06:09:15","modified_gmt":"2021-01-05T06:09:15","slug":"warne-axes-future-captain-from-australian-xi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=18219","title":{"rendered":"Warne axes &#039;future captain&#039; from Australian XI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/cricket\/shane-warne\" title=\"Shane Warne\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shane Warne<\/a> has axed <a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/cricket\/travis-head\" title=\"Travis Head\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Travis Head<\/a> from his Australian XI for the third Test, despite naming the left-hander a potential future captain of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Warne, like many, has been left frustrated with Head&#x27;s summer so far, with the 26-year-old notching scores of 7, 38 and 17 through the first two Tests against India.<\/p>\n<p>However, what has angered Warne in particular is the mode of dismissals which seem to have become recurring for Head.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I&#x27;m a bit frustrated with Travis Head because he&#x27;s getting out the same way all the time,&quot; he told Fox Cricket.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"60a68314-4a98-46af-9c73-e2a5c1e5ee4f\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/60a68314-4a98-46af-9c73-e2a5c1e5ee4f\" alt=\"Travis Head\" data-width=\"1396\" data-height=\"785\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&quot;We know what a talent he (Head) is, he&#x27;s probably a future captain \u2026 He still could be, but he&#x27;s got to get in the side first \u2013 and at the moment I wouldn&#x27;t have him in the side. He&#x27;s got a little technique deficiency he needs to sort out first.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Warne&#x27;s sentiment was echoed by Andrew Symonds, who said Head was prone to getting himself out by playing &quot;nothing shots&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>With Travis, he&#x27;s probably just got to go back (to domestic cricket) and really work on how he commits (to shots),&quot; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;They&#x27;re just tentative shots, you can see the disappointment as he turns and walks off and thinks &#x27;it was just a nothing shot&#x27;.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"eb51951f-de61-4cdd-a875-718c29e66154\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/eb51951f-de61-4cdd-a875-718c29e66154\" alt=\"David Warner\" data-width=\"1396\" data-height=\"785\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&quot;When you&#x27;re playing for your position, this is when you really get tested mentally. Can you clear your mind and really play in a positive (mindset), every shot you play it&#x27;s got to be positive even when you&#x27;re defending \u2013 and he just looks a little bit tentative at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;He seems to be struggling confidence-wise just to how hard he&#x27;s going to commit and build his innings in his first 20 to 30 runs.&quot;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WARNE&#x27;S XI:<\/strong> 1.
