Asthma has derailed the start of Nick Kyrgios' Australian Open preparation, with the Aussie forced to withdraw from tonight's match.<\/p>\n

Kyrgios made the decision about six hours before he was scheduled to play against Alex Molcan on Rod Laver Arena in the Melbourne Summer Set.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old Australian has been recovering from a knee injury for the past three months.<\/p>\n

He now has just one lead-up tournament before the Australian Open begins, the Sydney Tennis Classic.<\/p>\n

Kyrgios enters the 2022 season ranked as 93rd in the world.<\/p>\n

"I'm really sorry that I've had to pull out from this Melbourne Summer Set event," Kyrgios said.<\/p>\n
