The season is still scheduled to begin in Melbourne on March 21, but if it takes place this year it's likely to be held on a postponed date.<\/p>\n

The Bahrain Grand Prix, set to begin on March 28, is now likely to open the 2021 Formula 1 season.<\/p>\n
Autosport reports the Australian Grand Prix could be postponed due to Australia's strict travel restrictions and the emergence of a new strain of COVID-19.<\/p>\n
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation provided Wide World of Sports the following statement:<\/p>\n
"The Australian\u00a0Grand\u00a0Prix\u00a0Corporation\u00a0continues to work closely with the Victorian government and Formula 1 in conditions and arrangements relating to the staging of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne in 2021. Further detail will be provided upon finalisation of arrangements with all parties in the coming weeks."<\/p>\n
A Formula 1 spokesperson provided the following statement to Autosport:<\/p>\n
"We have set out our 2021 calendar and look forward to the return of F1 in March this year."<\/p>\n
