{"id":17598,"date":"2021-01-03T23:39:57","date_gmt":"2021-01-04T00:39:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=17598"},"modified":"2021-01-04T00:57:45","modified_gmt":"2021-01-04T00:57:45","slug":"pattinson-ruled-out-of-sydney-test-after-fall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=17598","title":{"rendered":"Pattinson ruled out of Sydney Test after fall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Luckless Australian paceman James Pattinson has been hit with injury once again, with bruised ribs causing his withdrawal from the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/cricket\/scg-test-weather-australia-v-india-cricket-covid-protocols\/4d096e02-6d5c-48eb-adff-289fe068eeaf\" title=\"third Test in Sydney\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">third Test in Sydney<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pattinson is understood to have injured his ribs in a fall at his property while on leave during the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/cricket\/australia-vs-india-live-scores-second-test-day-four-vodafone-test-series-2020-results-news-video-blog-boxing-day\/885fbd14-b1a1-408f-b287-aa7c2909fa41\" title=\"Boxing Day Test\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boxing Day Test<\/a> and will not be replaced in the squad, per Cricket Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Neser and Mitchell Swepson are the other two bowlers in the Test squad aside from the starting quartet of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon.<\/p>\n<p>The injury is the latest in a long line of ailments that has seen Pattinson play just 21 Test matches since making his debut back in December 2011.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"e0bcf1c3-1842-4548-8679-ecff3cad7448\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/e0bcf1c3-1842-4548-8679-ecff3cad7448\" alt=\"James Pattinson\" data-width=\"1396\" data-height=\"785\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The 30-year-old most recently bowled against India in a tour match in the lead-up to the opening Test of the series, picking up three wickets.<\/p>\n<p>Pattinson has taken 81 wickets in his 21 Test appearances for Australia at an average of 26.33 and last featured in a Test for Australia against New Zealand last January.<\/p>\n<p>The third Test against India is scheduled to get underway from January 7 at the SCG.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>For a daily dose of the best of the breaking news and exclusive content from Wide World of Sports, subscribe to our newsletter by clicking here!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>Luckless Australian paceman James Pattinson has been hit with injury once again, with bruised ribs causing his withdrawal from the third Test in Sydney.
