New Zealand import Colin Munro is the first centurion of this BBL season.<\/p>\n

Munro took player of the match honours in the Perth Scorchers' 49-run win over the Strikers on Saturday, rocketing to a total of 114 not out off 73 balls.<\/p>\n

After opening the batting for the Scorchers alongside Cameron Bancroft, Munro survived the 20 overs to hit the team's highest ever individual score in an innings.<\/p>\n

Hitting eight 4s and six 6s, Munro's score surpassed Scorchers cult hero Craig Simmons' previous effort of 112.<\/p>\n

After making his debut last season, the feat was also Munro's maiden BBL ton.<\/p>\n

Despite a slow start – sitting on 43 of 43 at one point – the left-hander accelerated late.<\/p>\n

A bit of luck also appeared to be on Munro's side with two dropped catches at 11 and 58, including a Rashid Khan sitter. Subsequently, a caught behind delivery was not given when he was on 72, prompting Munro to smash 42 off the next 12 deliveries.<\/p>\n

Fast bowler Andrew Tye also took three wickets in four balls to help the Scorchers continue their unbeaten form to start the season.<\/p>\n
