After Australian NFL star Jordan Mailata<\/a> shocked viewers by dominating his New Orleans opponent in a scuffle, he then took to Instagram to cheekily rub salt in the wound.<\/p>\n

During the second quarter of Philadelphia's win over New Orleans, Mailata, who's listed at 203cm and 157kg, found himself tangled up with Saints defensive end Marcus Davenport<\/a> at the end of a play before the pair wrestled on the turf.<\/p>\n

Mailata was executing his role as a left tackle to perfection, blocking the 198cm\/120kg Davenport with ease before tensions boiled over between the pair as the Australian took his opponent to the ground.<\/p>\n

With Mailata clearly in the dominant position, players from both sides rushed over to break it up.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old Sydney-native posted a picture of the moment to Instagram, with the caption "when push comes to shove".<\/p>\n

As part of the cheeky social media post, he also added the location 'IHOP' – International House of Pancakes, a breakfest franchise in the USA, seemingly intended to mean that he'd flattened his opponent like a pancake.<\/p>\n

Mailata recently signed a four-year contract extension<\/a> worth up to $108.7 million with $55.5 million guaranteed, with the Eagles.<\/p>\n

The former South Sydney U20s player has enjoyed a breakout season and has the starting job at left tackle for the organisation.<\/p>\n

Former NFL player turned analyst Brian Baldinger lauded the Eagles' offensive line after their win over New Orleans and said the "tandem" of Mailata and Lane Johnson was by the far the best in the league.<\/p>\n
