Former Bathurst 1000 winner David Reynolds<\/a> will make an earlier-than-expected return to the Supercars championship, after fast-tracking his COVID-19 vaccination.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month Reynolds was banned for three races<\/a> after New South Wales authorities rejected his vaccine exemption. He had his first dose shortly after.<\/p>\n

Reynolds has been able to reach the required double vaccination milestone quicker than expected, enabling him to return for this weekend's round at Sydney Motorsport Park.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old will team up with Luke Youlden at Mount Panorama in a Ford Mustang, the pair hoping to repeat their victory from 2017, when they shared a Commodore for Erebus Motorsport.<\/p>\n

"Kelly Grove Racing is pleased to announce that David Reynolds will be returning for Round Eleven of the Supercars Championship this weekend," the team said in a statement.<\/p>\n

"David is fully vaccinated and has fulfilled the requirements by NSW Health and Supercars to participate in the season's penultimate event.<\/p>\n

"Kelly Grove Racing would like to thank Luke Youlden for the phenomenal job he has done in David's absence, and we are excited to have him back with us at the Bathurst 1000 early next month."<\/p>\n
