Melbourne superstar Brandon Smith<\/a> is set to meet with a third rival club in as many weeks, as he weighs up his rugby league future.<\/p>\n

Fox Sports reports Smith will sit down with the Roosters in Sydney on Monday to hear what the Bondi club can offer him.<\/p>\n

Last week he was spotted meeting with both the Titans and Dolphins<\/a> while spending part of his off-season in southern Queensland.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old is on the market and one of the hottest properties in the NRL.<\/p>\n

The Storm are keen to keep him on their books but they also have State of Origin hooker Harry Grant, who is contracted there to the end of 2023.<\/p>\n

Both Smith and Grant desire the No.9 jumper and while Smith largely owned it this year, Grant is too good a hooker to play a support role long-term.<\/p>\n

Smith's biggest asset is he can also play anywhere in the forward pack. But he wants to be a starting rake for an NRL club, and has played all of his seven Tests for New Zealand wearing the No.9.<\/p>\n

The issue with him heading to the Roosters is it would pit him against another up-and-coming gun hooker in Sam Verrills.<\/p>\n

At the Dolphins and Titans, though, Smith would be handed the No.9 without question.<\/p>\n

Smith has clocked 86 games for Melbourne since debuting in 2017, and won the 2020 grand final with the club.<\/p>\n
