{"id":16127,"date":"2020-12-31T13:17:40","date_gmt":"2020-12-31T14:17:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=16127"},"modified":"2020-12-31T15:03:13","modified_gmt":"2020-12-31T15:03:13","slug":"pcb-awards-2020-babar-shaheen-hafeez-nominated-in-three-categories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=16127","title":{"rendered":"PCB Awards 2020: Babar, Shaheen, Hafeez nominated in three categories"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin: 5px 5% 10px 5%\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/arysports.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Babar-Azam-Mohammad-Hafeez-Shaheen-Shah.jpg\" width=\"742\" height=\"486\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) today revealed nominations\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-GB\">for the PCB Awards 2020.\u00a0Captain Babar Azam, T20I specialist Mohammad Hafeez and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi have been short-listed in three categories each.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The short-lists for 12 categories, including 10 individual categories, have been finalized by an independent panel comprising highly respected and distinguished cricket personalities.\u00a0<\/span>The winners\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-GB\">will be announced on the PCB digital Platforms on Friday, 1 January 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On the other hand,\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-GB\">Haris Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah and Shan Masood have been nominated in two categories each.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Both Babar and Shaheen feature in the White-Ball Cricketer of the Year, Test Cricketer of the Year and Most Valuable Cricketer of the Year categories, while Hafeez has been short-listed in the Individual Performance of the Year, White-Ball Cricketer of the Year and Most Valuable Cricketer of the Year categories.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Read:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/arysports.tv\/steve-smith-named-iccs-test-cricketer-decade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">No Pakistani in ICC Individual Awards of the Decade too<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Haris Rauf has made his way to the Men\u2019s Emerging International Cricketer and White-Ball Cricketer of the Year categories and Rizwan has been included in the Test and Most Valuable Cricketer of the Year categories. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Naseem is contending for the Men\u2019s Emerging International and Individual Performance of the Year categories, while Shan competes for the Individual Performance and Test Cricketer of the Year categories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Fawad Alam has been shortlisted in the individual performance of the year for his hundred against New Zealand in the first Test at Bay Oval,\u00a0Mount Maunganui<\/p>\n<p>Apart from Fawad,\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0Hafeez (86 not out, 52b, 4&#215;4, 6&#215;6 v England 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0T20I), Naseem (four for 26, including a hat-trick,\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">v Bangladesh, only Test<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">), Shan (156 v England, 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0Test) have been shortlisted as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNoSpacing\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8220;In short-listing the nominees, the independent jury did not limit itself to just player performances, but also took into account various other factors, such as the opponent, impact, value and contribution of the players in the matches and\/or during the period under consideration,&#8221; PCB said in its press release.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Read more:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/arysports.tv\/ignored-icc-pakistani-players-awarded-pcb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ignored by ICC, Pakistani players to be awarded by PCB<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNoSpacing\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The four nominees for the Domestic Cricketer of the Year are Hasan Ali, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel and Zahid Mahmood.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNoSpacing\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Mohammad Huraira, Mubasir Khan, Rohail Nazir and Qasim Akram have been short-listed in the Men\u2019s Emerging Cricketer of the Year category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNoSpacing\">There are two women\u2019s individual award categories despite limited cricket.
