NRL's incoming 17th club, the Dolphins<\/a>, have set their sights on St George Illawarra young gun Talatau "Junior" Amone.<\/p>\n

According to a Sydney Morning Herald<\/a> report, the Dolphins are hoping that Amone, who is under contract with the Dragons until the end of 2023, could become a free agent sooner.<\/p>\n

With Corey Norman departing the club, coach Anthony Griffin hopes to have three playmakers at his disposal next year, with Amone, Ben Hunt and fellow young gun Jayden Sullivan.<\/p>\n

Amone, 19, played 11 games for the Dragons last year and finished the season playing as Griffin's five-eighth for the club's final three matches.<\/p>\n

While it's expected the trio will fight it out for the two playmaker spots, Griffin does have the luxury of knowing that both Hunt and Sullivan do have experience playing as a No.9 as well.<\/p>\n

It's also understood Sullivan is in the middle of contract extension talks with St George Illawarra amid interest from several other NRL clubs.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old Sullivan is under contract for next season only and is free to speak with rival teams.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Dolphins earlier this week signed young gun hooker Harrison Graham<\/a> to a development contract.<\/p>\n

Graham's contract marks the club's only confirmed player signing since being unveiled as the franchise to enter the competition in 2023.<\/p>\n
