The dates for the 2022 State of Origin<\/a> series have been revealed as new Queensland<\/a> coach Billy Slater<\/a> prepares to block NSW<\/a>'s bid for back-to-back wins.<\/p>\n

Next year's series between NSW and Queensland will begin at Sydney's Stadium Australia on June 8, before the Blues and Maroons square off at Perth's Optus Stadium on June 26.<\/p>\n

The third match of the series will then be played at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on July 13.<\/p>\n

Slater is tasked with denying consecutive series wins to NSW after being announced in September as the successor to sacked Queensland coach Paul Green<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Slater had already been serving as a Maroons selector.<\/p>\n

The COVID-19 pandemic limited all three 2021 games to Queensland, with the first being held in Townsville and the second and third in Brisbane.<\/p>\n

Perth is set to host its second Origin game in history in 2022, following its debut in the second match of the 2019 series.<\/p>\n

That game saw Manly<\/a> megastar Tom Trbojevic<\/a> score a hat-trick to lead NSW to an 18-14 victory.<\/p>\n
