Premiers Penrith<\/a> are set to make a bid for exciting young Knights utility Tex Hoy<\/a> if bad boy Tyrone May gets sacked.<\/p>\n

The Panthers are expected to tear up May's contract this week<\/a> after he posted offensive comments on social media after the grand final about a sex scandal he was involved in a couple of years ago.<\/p>\n

Hoy, 21, is a talented utility who can fill May's role as a number 14 with his ability to handle several backline spots.<\/p>\n

And in truth, Hoy probably has more talent and potential than May so it would be a good move by the Panthers.<\/p>\n

Hoy is a free agent for next season, with the Knights having trouble squeezing him into their top 30 squad.<\/p>\n

Adam O'Brien has plenty of playmaking options, even if Mitchell Pearce leaves as expected, with Jake Clifford, Adam Clune, Kalyn Ponga, Hoy and Phoenix Crossland all capable ball players.<\/p>\n

Boom rookie on radar of several clubs<\/h2>\n

Half a dozen clubs are chasing the next big thing out of New Zealand – an explosive running halfback called Xavier Tito-Harris.<\/p>\n

The youngster is only 17 but good judges say he will be playing in the NRL next season – the only question is where.<\/p>\n

The talented playmaker is currently under contract to the Warriors and the club have tabled a new deal to keep him in Auckland long term.<\/p>\n

But several Aussie clubs have also made contact with Tito-Harris and the rookie and his family have some serious thinking to do.<\/p>\n

Class playmakers in the NRL are in short supply and as a result, club are prepared to gamble on the teenager with big money deals.<\/p>\n

French star could be headed down under<\/h2>\n

There's strong mail that several NRL clubs are scouting out French Test prop Paul S\u00e9guier.<\/p>\n

A 24-year-old no-nonsense forward, S\u00e9guier can also play second row and helped Catalans reach this year's Super League grand final.<\/p>\n

S\u00e9guier played in the Test loss to England a week ago and held his own against the tough English pack.<\/p>\n

And which club is leading the way to pick up S\u00e9guier for 2023? I'm hearing the Dragons are showing plenty of interest.<\/p>\n

Souths pick up rookie five-eighth<\/h2>\n

Souths have signed a promising five-eighth from North Queensland who would have played for Italy had this year's World Cup gone ahead.<\/p>\n

Jack Campagnolo, 23, hails from Tully in the far north but attracted the Rabbitohs' eyes playing for Wynnum Manly Seagulls in the Queensland Cup this year.<\/p>\n

Campagnolo helped Wynnum to the grand final and was named Five-eighth in the Cup's team of the year.<\/p>\n

The playmaker has been signed on a train and trial contract but will spend the summer with the first grade squad and good judges at Souths ard confident they are on a winner.<\/p>\n

"We're hoping he's a bit of a late bloomer," Rabbitohs Head of Elite Pathways and Player Development, Joe O'Callaghan, told Wide World of Sports.<\/p>\n
