The Eagles<\/a> have confirmed small forward Jamaine Jones will face court tomorrow after he was charged with drink driving.<\/p>\n

Jones immediately informed the Eagles of the matter, with the club revealing he was charged for allegedly driving with a blood alcohol level exceeding 0.08.<\/p>\n

West Coast said it was "bitterly disappointed" with the incident in a statement issued to the general public.<\/p>\n

\"Jamaine<\/p>\n

"West Coast Eagles small forward Jamaine Jones will tomorrow face court on a charge of driving with a blood alcohol level exceeding 0.08," the statement read.<\/p>\n

"Jones informed the club immediately at the time of the offence and the matter will now be dealt with by the legal system.<\/p>\n

"The club is bitterly disappointed with Jones' actions and will review the incident after the hearing with the likelihood of a separate sanction.<\/p>\n

"There is no excuse for getting behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol and Jones is extremely remorseful for this serious error of judgement.<\/p>\n

"The club will make no further comment on the matter at this stage."<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old has played 17 games to date for the Eagles. Jones emerged as a regular for the Eagles this season, notching 15 appearances for the club.<\/p>\n

He joined the club in 2020 after being delisted by Geelong following a two-year stint with the Cats.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month Jones was rewarded with a one-year contract extension. <\/p>\n

"Jamaine has been unlucky with some injuries during his time at the club but took a step forward this year and added ground-level threat and pressure in our front half," list manager Rohan O'Brien said at the time. <\/p>\n

"We believe he is still improving and it is pleasing he will be with the club again next season."<\/p>\n
