Iconic Formula 1<\/a> commentator Martin Brundle<\/a> has revisited his viral encounter with Megan Thee Stallion and her bodyguards at the United States Grand Prix<\/a>, pointing out with a hint of sarcasm that they had made him "mildly well known".<\/p>\n

Brundle attempted to get a word with the American rapper during his pre-race grid walk at Monday's (AEDT) grand prix in Texas<\/a>, only to have his path blocked by a security guard.<\/p>\n

While Megan appeared happy to do a interview with Brundle on Sky Sports' coverage, the bodyguard made it difficult.<\/p>\n

It wasn't long before a second member of Megan's support crew had intervened, telling Brundle, "you can't do that".<\/p>\n

"I can do that, because I did," Brundle shot back as Megan was ushered away.<\/p>\n

\"Martin<\/p>\n

Brundle took to Twitter earlier this week to take exception to the behaviour of Megan's security guards.<\/p>\n

"Bodyguards visiting the grid for the first time don't bother me; everyone's got a job to do," Brundle wrote.<\/p>\n

"But they could maybe learn some manners and respect on our patch."<\/p>\n

Brundle, who drove in Formula 1 in the 1980s and 1990s, has since given a light-hearted take on the fiasco.<\/p>\n

"I did chuckle on Monday," Brundle wrote in his latest Sky Sports column<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"After all the blood, sweat, tears and broken bones, the glorious victories and dismal failures, the monstrous crashes, the quadruple stints on a treacherous rainy night in Le Mans, guiding a 1250-BHP flying bedsted through Monaco qualifying, along with 25 years of broadcasting, I've finally become mildly well known for being ignored by celebrities, while simultaneously being swatted to one side by a man mountain and told off by a Malfoy lookalike doubtless attending his first F1 race.<\/p>\n

"My grid-walk return after two years was probably a bit too cheeky in Austin but nonetheless a lot of fun.<\/p>\n

"Actually, my real claim to fame is that I once played snooker with (British singer-songwriter) Mark Knopfler, and what a lovely bloke he was, too."<\/p>\n

Max Verstappen of Red Bull won the United States Grand Prix<\/a> to extend his lead in the world championship from six points to 12 over Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hamilton pushed hard to catch Verstappen over the final lap of the race but ultimately fell 1.3 seconds short.<\/p>\n

The Formula 1 world championship is now set to visit Mexico next weekend.<\/p>\n
