Chris Scott<\/a> looks set to remain at Geelong despite speculation surrounding his future after receiving a vote of confidence from incoming club CEO Steve Hocking<\/a>. <\/p>\n

After the Cats were bundled out of the finals in an 83-point thrashing a the hands of eventual premiers Melbourne, there were doubts over whether Scott would be offered an extension<\/a> with his current deal expiring at the end of 2022. <\/p>\n

Reports have indicated that Scott is set to receive a two-year extension, and Hocking confirmed that he and the club were "committed" to the current coach.<\/p>\n

"He will be extended. There is a contract in place for 2022 but we are committed to Chris," Hocking told the Herald Sun.<\/p>\n

"The big thing with Chris is, and I have worked right across 18 clubs so I think I am reasonably well placed to make this comment, he is in the top three or four coaches across the competition.<\/p>\n

"If you have a look tactically at what he does game day it's exceptional."<\/p>\n

While Scott will remain at the helm for the start of the next season, he'll be flanked by an almost completely new-look coaching staff.<\/p>\n

Former players James Kelly and Harry Taylor have returned to the club, while Eddie Betts has also joined the Cats in a part-time role. <\/p>\n
