Royal Challengers Bangalore<\/a> superstar Glenn Maxwell<\/a> has unleashed on social media trolls after his side bowed out of the Indian Premier League<\/a> title race in a loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Australian has slammed the activity of some social media users as "absolutely disgusting" and implored people to "try being a decent person… instead of spreading abuse", after his Royal Challengers lost their elimination play-off by four wickets.<\/p>\n

"Great season by RCB," Maxwell wrote on Twitter.<\/p>\n

"Unfortunately we fell well short of where we thought we should be. Doesn't take away from an amazing season!<\/p>\n

"Some of the garbage that has been flowing on social media is absolutely disgusting! We are human beings who are giving our best each and every day. Try being a decent person maybe instead of spreading abuse.<\/p>\n

"Thank you to the REAL fans that shared love and appreciation for the players giving their all!<\/p>\n

"Unfortunately there is (sic) some horrible people out there that make social media a horrible place to be. Unacceptable! Please don't be like them!"<\/p>\n

Maxwell continued his rant in a second Twitter post.<\/p>\n

"If you comment abuse on one of my teammates'\/friends' social media with negative\/abusive rubbish, you will be blocked by everyone," Maxwell wrote.<\/p>\n

"What is the point of being a terrible person? There is no excuse!"<\/p>\n

Royal Challengers batted first and posted 7-138 from their 20 overs, with captain Virat Kohli<\/a> top-scoring in a knock of 39 from 33 balls.<\/p>\n

Knight Riders off-spinner Sunil Narine snared four wickets, including the crucial scalps of Maxwell, Kohli and South African maestro AB de Villiers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Knight Riders then chased the required runs with four wickets and two balls to spare, with young opener Shubman Gill top-scoring in an innings of 29 from 18 balls.<\/p>\n

Kolkata are now set for a sudden-death match against the Ricky Ponting<\/a>-coached Delhi Capitals.<\/p>\n

Maxwell, Smith, Hazlewood and Stoinis are all members of Australia's squad for the T20 World Cup<\/a>, set to begin in a clash between Oman and Papua New Guinea on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Australia<\/a> will begin their World Cup campaign in a game against South Africa<\/a> next Saturday.<\/p>\n
