The Provan-Summons trophy has arrived back in Sydney for repares after it was damaged during Penrith's grand final celebrations.<\/p>\n

The iconic trophy, which Penrith earned after defeating the Rabbitohs 14-12 last weekend<\/a>, is estimated to be worth around $30,000.<\/p>\n

Nine News confirmed the NRL is upset the sculptures of Norm Provan and Arthur Summons were separated from the base of the trophy and placed in a pram.<\/p>\n

Photos of the incident involving the pram surfaced across social media today, with the caption "googoo gaga" referenced in the trending image.<\/p>\n

It's understood the NRL is also investigating the matter.<\/p>\n

The trophy is one of the most recognisable in Australian sports and centres around an iconic moment on the field.<\/p>\n

In an award-winning 1963 photo dubbed 'The Gladiators', Provan and Summons, who were playing opposite each other in the NSW Rugby League Grand Final that year, embraced after the match.<\/p>\n

The moment was captured by newspaper photographer John O'Gready and only later used as the inspiration for the NRL Grand Final trophy.<\/p>\n
