It was a frantic final few minutes after the Bunnies scored a try then missed the conversion to leave the margin at two points.<\/p>\n
With four minutes left on the clock, South Sydney fielded a Penrith kick and Dane Gagai was bringing it out from deep in his own half when he was whacked high by Matt Burton.<\/p>\n
Play was stopped as Gagai was injured but neither Sutton or the bunker officials decided to penalise Burton for the high contact.<\/p>\n

"They've given penalties for those all year," Phil Gould told Channel Nine's coverage.<\/p>\n
"They've been giving penalties for those all year. Even though he's falling he does make contact with the head. I don't think that's a penalty, but those have been giving penalties all day."<\/p>\n
Andrew Johns was pleased to see the referee not penalise Burton for the high shot.<\/p>\n
"This is how it should be refereed. He's been sensational," Johns said of Sutton.<\/p>\n
The game restarted and three plays later the Rabbitohs went close to scoring, when Cody Walker ran it left and looked to his two outside men.<\/p>\n

But when Walker passed the ball it went behind Gagai and dribbled into touch. Walker and his teammates appealed to the referee the ball had been touched by a Penrith player, but Sutton ignored their pleas and awarded Panthers the ball.<\/p>\n
"It's our ball. He touched it," captain Adam Reynolds pleaded, to no avail.<\/p>\n
Replays were inconclusive. Penrith got the ball and they were able to run down the clock to the full-time siren.<\/p>\n
