He will hand the reins to his long-time assistant, Jason Demetriou, who will take control of the Bunnies when they return for pre-season ahead of 2022.<\/p>\n
For Bennett, though, he is very much unemployed and on the market.<\/p>\n

He's been heavily linked to coaching the NRL's expansion team but they won't be in the competition until 2023 at the earliest, so Bennett has at least a year before starting that job.<\/p>\n
The Rabbitohs reportedly want him to stay on at the burrow in some capacity, just not as head coach.<\/p>\n
Bennett was asked about his future after the heartbreaking grand final loss.<\/p>\n
"I've made no choices yet. I've told you a thousand times, when I know what the plan is I'll let you know," he said.<\/p>\n
"There's something formulating in my mind but I don't know what it is yet.<\/p>\n
