South Sydney's Keaon Koloamatangi is going through the biggest week of his life as he gets set for Sunday's grand final<\/a>, but a moment with his "hero" Sonny Bill Williams<\/a> could equally be the highlight he takes away.<\/p>\n

Following his debut season last year, the 23-year-old forward has taken his career to the next level in 2021, which was highlighted by the fact he was nearly rewarded with an Origin debut after being selected as 20th man in the NSW Blues squad.<\/p>\n

While Koloamatangi's sights are set on holding up the Provan-Summons Trophy when the Rabbitohs take on the Panthers this weekend, his breakout season hasn't gone unnoticed by a legend of the game in Williams.<\/p>\n

During an interview with Nine News' Danny Weidler, Koloamatangi was asked about who his hero was growing up, to which he responded: "It was Sonny Bill Williams."<\/p>\n

"Everyone wanted to be like him when he was younger.<\/p>\n

"Growing up in the area, I was a Canterbury supporter."<\/p>\n

Just moments later, Koloamatangi was left starstruck when during the interview, his phone went off with Williams coincidentally on the other end.<\/p>\n

"I'm pretty excited," a starstruck Koloamatangi was heard saying to Williams.<\/p>\n

"It's pretty crazy, I'm trying to soak everything in."<\/p>\n

After the interview, Koloamatangi was asked about the call.<\/p>\n

"He's very humble," he said.<\/p>\n

"I was just a young kid supporting him and now I get to talk to him. It's pretty crazy."<\/p>\n
