Former cyclist Chris Anker Sorenson has died aged 37 after he was struck by a vehicle during a ride in Belgium.<\/p>\n
The International Cycling Union (UCI) confirmed the "tragic loss", along with the Danish broadcaster he was set to work for in commentary for the Road World Championships in Flanders this weekend.<\/p>\n
https:\/\/twitter.com\/UCI_cycling\/status\/1439329311270518792<\/a><\/p>\n "It is with great sadness that I have received the news that our good colleague Chris Anker Sorensen is dead," TV 2 Sport's<\/em> sports director Frederik Lauesen said.<\/p>\n "Chris Anker Sorensen was in Belgium for the World Cycling Championships.<\/p>\n "Today, Saturday, he was out cycling and was hit by a car and he later died of his injuries.<\/p>\n "Our thoughts and deep sympathy go to Chris Anker Sorensen's family."<\/p>\n Sorenson retired from professional cycling in 2018. His greatest achievements was winning a stage in the 2010 Giro d'Italia and in 2015 he won the Danish national title.
