Carlton<\/a> is refusing to give up on luring Alastair Clarkson to the club, with reports newly-appointed chief executive Brian Cook will attempt to woo the legendary coach.<\/p>\n

Since departing the Hawks following the conclusion of the 2021 season, Clarkson has maintained that he plans to take next year off before looking into his future, despite a number of approaches from the Blues.<\/a><\/p>\n

According to The Age<\/a>, Cook, who yesterday replaced the sacked Cain Liddle at Carlton<\/a>, is planning to personally contact Clarkson with hopes the four-time premiership-winning coach changes his mind.<\/p>\n

It comes following reports the club has also interviewed assistants Michael Voss, Adam Kingsley and Daniel Giansiracusa.<\/p>\n

It's understood Voss, a Brisbane Lions great and now Port Adelaide assistant, and Kingsley, an assistant at Richmond, are strongly in the mix for Carlton's top job.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Cook has joined the Blues on a three-year deal.<\/p>\n

After taking West Coast<\/a> from a start-up to a two-time AFL premiership juggernaut, Cook led Geelong during a highly successful 23-year period, reviving the club's finances and overseeing three flags.<\/p>\n
