Tauranga: Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has once again injured and has\u00a0been ruled out of the first Test against New Zealand at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 22-year-old suffered a\u00a0thigh injury following the conclusion of the third T20i at Napier on Friday. The team management has included left-arm spinner Zafar Gohar as a replacement.<\/p>\n

“Shadab will now undergo MRI scans in Tauranga on Thursday, following which a further update on the exact nature of the injury and time needed to return to competitive cricket will be provided,” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a press release.<\/p>\n

Shadab’s inclusion for the T20I series was also uncertain, however, he recovered and led Pakistan in the series which they lost by 2-1.<\/p>\n

He suffered an injury<\/a> in his left leg just before the start of the series against Zimbabwe in mid-October.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0Zafar has joined the Test side from Hamilton where he was preparing with the Pakistan Shaheens for Sunday\u2019s T20 match against the Northern Knights.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old Zafar has so far taken 144 wickets in 39 first-class matches, including six five-wicket hauls in an innings and two ten-wicket match hauls.<\/p>\n
