Unwanted Port Adelaide<\/a> cult figure Hamish Hartlett believes he still has strong footy left in him but insists there's no bad blood towards the Power, declaring he's got "nothing but love for the club".<\/p>\n

Hartlett, 31 and a member of the club's leadership group, is without a contract for 2022 but is keen to play on, even if it means moving interstate.<\/p>\n

After the Power crashed out of the title race in a 71-point preliminary final humiliation at the hands of the Western Bulldogs<\/a> on Saturday, the free-wheeling half-back opened up on his feelings towards the club in a chat with radio station SEN.<\/p>\n

"I had a chat with Kenny (Hinkley)<\/a> and (football manager) Chris Davies yesterday and Kenny pretty much just said that there won't be a contract there for me next season for a couple of reasons," Hartlett said.<\/p>\n

"One, physically he doesn't think I can keep up with the demands of the game, particularly in the position I play across half-back against players that are quite lively.<\/p>\n

"He just doesn't feel like I can keep up with those kinds of players anymore.<\/p>\n

"And also the development of some of our younger guys coming through, which has been quite exceptional the last two or three years.<\/p>\n

"He just doesn't feel there's a position on the list for me anymore.<\/p>\n

"I didn't necessarily agree with them, but I can understand the angle that they're coming from."<\/p>\n

Given he's not interested in retiring just yet, Hartlett is keenly awaiting the trade period, set to begin late in October.<\/p>\n

The South Australian arrived at Port Adelaide via pick four in the 2008 national draft and played 193 games with the Power.<\/p>\n
