Parramatta Eels<\/a> winger Blake Ferguson has given the strongest indication yet that his time in the NRL<\/a> may be coming to an end, revealing a desire to make a switch to rugby union before calling time on his professional sports career.<\/p>\n

Ferguson, who had one of his best games of the year in Parramatta's win over Newcastle<\/a>, revealed his desire to make the switch and try his hand at the 15-man game.<\/p>\n

"I'm at that point in my career where I'm looking for opportunities," the 31-year-old said on Triple M's Rush Hour.<\/p>\n

"I haven't made a decision as of yet."<\/p>\n

Ferguson, who has more than 100 first grade tries and is closing in on 300 games, said that he had ticked off most of his goals in the sport.<\/p>\n

"Rugby is something that I do want to try, I played it as a schoolkid and hopefully one day I can play rugby, but we'll see what happens," he said.<\/p>\n

"I feel like I've acheived everything, I don't really have to acheive too much more in the NRL.<\/p>\n

"It would be good to try and switch codes and try and create a legacy in that arena."<\/p>\n

The Origin representative will hope to have at least three more games in a blue and gold jersey, as Parramatta look to break their 35 year premiership drought.<\/p>\n

The Eels will come off a six-day turnaround and on Saturday, play Penrith for a spot in the prelimary finals.<\/p>\n
