Port Adelaide assistant coach Michael Voss has confirmed he's "had a discussion" with Carlton<\/a> surrounding their search for a head coach.<\/p>\n

After yet another underwhelming season, which resulted in senior coach David Teague being sacked<\/a>, the club's search for its next successor has failed to flatter thus far with the likes of Alastair Clarkson and Ross Lyon shunning the Blues<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Voss, who won three premierships as a player with the Lions during the early 2000s, has been the Power's midfield coach since joining the club in 2014.<\/p>\n

The Lions great even coached his former side between 2009-2013, but finished with an underwhelming record of 43 wins, 1 draw and 65 losses, making for a win percentage of 40 per cent.<\/p>\n

With Carlton now looking for its fifth senior coach in nine years, Voss confirmed he has spoken with the club.<\/p>\n

"I've had a discussion with them (Carlton), but it hasn't progressed anywhere else as of yet," Voss told SEN radio.<\/p>\n

"I won't confirm who and how, other than I've had that conversation."<\/p>\n

Asked if he was prepared to go through Carlton's hiring process, Voss said he is but claims he hasn't given the role much thought after he was unsuccessful in landing Collingwood's recent top tob.<\/a><\/p>\n

"I would if I'm involved," he added.<\/p>\n

"But I've got to be honest with you, I've given it little thought.<\/p>\n

"Once the Collingwood coaching job had finalised, I haven't given much thought to anything else because there was such a big month that was coming up.<\/p>\n

"I guess that's what the next few days hold for me, assessing where that's all at and making some decisions off the back of that."<\/p>\n
