Geelong<\/a> captain Joel Selwood<\/a> unleashed on an umpire during the Cats' horrid preliminary final outing<\/a>, screaming "he f–king dived, he f–king dived" after being penalised for an off-the-ball push.<\/p>\n

Selwood shoved Melbourne<\/a>'s Ed Langdon during the third term and the Demon hit the ground, leading to Bayley Fritsch receiving a 50-metre penalty and slotting the goal as the minor premiers charged to an 83-point win<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A host of Melbourne players, including captain Max Gawn<\/a> and star midfielder Christian Salem, began heckling Selwood as soon as he pushed Langdon \u2013 and their jeers ramped up when the 50-metre penalty was awarded.<\/p>\n

"He dived! He dived!" Selwood yelled at the umpire.<\/p>\n

"No, he didn't," the umpire hit back.<\/p>\n

\"Joel<\/p>\n

"He f–king did!" Selwood said.<\/p>\n

"He f–king dived! He f–king dived!"<\/p>\n

Seven commentator Jason Bennett said: "So the skipper (is) hot under the collar, margin out to 40 points as Bayley Fritsch kicks his first."<\/p>\n

Former Brisbane<\/a> coach Justin Leppitsch disagreed with the 50-metre ruling.<\/p>\n

"I'm not sure about the 50 metres down the field," Leppitsch said.<\/p>\n

"A little bit of play-acting there … so a bit stiff there (on) Selwood," Leppitsch said.<\/p>\n

North Melbourne<\/a> and Adelaide<\/a> great Wayne Carey<\/a> added: "It's not 50 metres."<\/p>\n
