Jarrod Wallace<\/a> hasn't set foot in the boxing ring since making his debut almost two years ago, but the hulking Titans<\/a> front-rower appears to be itching for a new opponent.<\/p>\n

The opponent Wallace seems to want to face is firebrand Warriors<\/a> prop Matt Lodge<\/a>, who was involved in a bitter running feud with the former Queensland Maroons<\/a> enforcer during yesterday's blistering clash on the Gold Coast.<\/p>\n

Rugby league fans were astounded as three Warriors and one Titan were sin-binned in a wild 60-second period late in Gold Coast's 44-0 thumping of the New Zealand club<\/a>, making for 12 versus 10.<\/p>\n

But what went largely unnoticed was Wallace challenging Lodge to a boxing fight about five minutes earlier.<\/p>\n

Lodge was placed on report in the 61st minute for hitting Wallace high with a swinging arm and slamming him into the turf head first.<\/p>\n

The foul play left Wallace clutching at his jaw and remonstrating with Lodge, as Fox League's broadcast picked up a challenge from the 30-year-old Titan to the polarising Warriors recruit.<\/p>\n

"Sign the f–king contract and we'll go," a feisty Wallace said to Lodge.<\/p>\n

Commentator Warren Smith chimed in.<\/p>\n

"Is there talk of these two having a crack in the squared circle?" Smith said.<\/p>\n

Legendary Balmain front-rower Steve Roach replied: "Well there is now by the sound of it."<\/p>\n

When Wallace was prompted on his spite for Lodge after the game, he said: "I don't think Lodgey likes me very much. Look, I'm not the biggest fan of his either."<\/p>\n

Wallace hasn't pulled on the gloves since defeating Nick Timm by a unanimous-points decision in four rounds in December 2019.<\/p>\n

Wallace was a notable omission as a host of past and present leading NRL names touched down in Townsville for the All Stars Fight Night<\/a> in February, including Josh Papalii<\/a>, Junior Paulo<\/a>, Ben Hannant<\/a>, Justin Hodges<\/a>, Willie Mason<\/a> and Craig Gower<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But while Wallace hinted at a desire to return to the boxing ring during the intense game against the Warriors, his immediate mission is helping the Titans to victory in their elimination final against the Roosters in Townsville on Saturday<\/a>.<\/p>\n
