Collingwood<\/a> skipper Scott Pendlebury<\/a> says he would consider a future at a rival club if it involved the opportunity of a coaching role down the line.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old remains uncontracted for the 2022 season but has a one-year deal on the table to remain at Collingwood.<\/p>\n

While Pendlebury is yet to speak to rival clubs, assuring he "really wants to be a one-club player", the midfielder revealed that he did hold aspirations to expand his horizons.<\/p>\n

"If I sign with Collingwood, at this stage it's a one-year deal [for 2022]," Pendlebury told Triple M.<\/p>\n

"We're trying to work through the best thing for both parties. When you get to this age you are slightly lower on the priority list than the young guys and getting a new coach.<\/p>\n

"I do have ambitions to coach, I've said that, and I think I've said I'd like to step away from that football club [Collingwood] and get some experience elsewhere. Ever since I was 17 all I've known is this football club.<\/p>\n

"But I've been on record saying I really do want to be a one-club player. Hopefully we nut something out soon … But if they want to offer me future coaching gigs for a couple of years' time, I'll have a look at it."<\/p>\n

However, Pendlebury insisted that at this stage he'd "just been talking with our football club".<\/p>\n

Gold Coast and Fremantle are two clubs reportedly interested in luring the champion midfielder.<\/p>\n
